The Belgrade Chess Federation is the umbrella body of the city's clubs from every municipality. It runs the blitz Grand Prix in its hall on Deligradska as well as the rapid Grand Prix, the seasonal rating tournaments, the city leagues and the youth and school championships, and it takes its larger events to the Madlenianum in Zemun, the COMTRADE Technology Centre in Novi Beograd and the sports grounds of Ada Ciganlija. The Belgrade sports association of the blind and visually impaired organises tournaments of its own, among them Napredak in a school conference hall in Zemun.

Chess in Belgrade is a different kind of group: it turns café evenings into chess meetups, brings the boards and pieces, and takes sign-ups for each evening on its site, with the fee paid at the venue; its October 2026 evenings were held at the Beercuz Hookah Lounge on Dragoslava Srejovića. The association of the blind also ran an open Belgrade individual championship at Gospodara Vučića 231 in April 2025, and the final of the Serbian championship of the blind and visually impaired was played in Zemun in December 2025.
