Blic and čuger: blitz in Belgrade 10

Blitz, blic in Serbian, leaves each player only a few minutes for the whole game, and in Belgrade many such events go by the name čuger. The federation's Grand Prix “Čugeri u šobu” is a numbered series of rated blitz tournaments on Deligradska with a final each December; Radnički runs its own Radnički čuger through the summer and autumn, and the Radnickichess series mixes blitz with rapid; Red Star played a weekly rated blitz, “Zvezdin rejting blic”, in its hall on Ustanička.

The memorial blitz for Moma Vučićević, run by Omladinski šahovski klub Beograd, is played at the Hotel Metropol; the Belgrade team blitz championship closes the year in December; and the Serbia Open adds qualifying blitz events to its July festival. The RTS memorial “Igrajmo za 16” is a quick-chess tournament held at the Radnički address each spring, and Zemunac and the cadet championships have blitz sections of their own.
